Fairy on a pixie on a box

This little pixie was just sitting there, minding her own business when a fairy landed on her!

This box was a present I made a while ago but couldn't post until the recipient had received it.
Look at the fairy's little nubbin nose!

I made fairy wings from shrinky dink! That stuff is super cool, and it is really exhilarating for the three minutes that it is in the oven.

Bonus picture! I found this one of all of the craft fair peeps waiting for their new homes.
I miss Princess Sparkletoes :-(

Gnome wine toppers

These were done for the craft fair but the poor guys never got their chance to shine in the bloggy limelight.

This dude has a funky beard.

The colours! So purdy!

A more traditional gnome, he chose to grow old gracefully and leave his beard white.

Little button nose :-)

And missus gnome. She likes the white wine better.

I should add that these photos were taken over a few days, I didn't drink all the red and white in one day!

Christmas dragon

Hi there, want to help me string up some Christmas lights?

This young dinosaur boy is super excited about christmas!

He has reached that awkward stage of adolescence when the tail grows really quickly.

Happy chinchilla

This guy is super excited to see you, you can't see but he is waving his fluffy tail around in joy

I think he is a chinchilla, but I was too polite to ask. He was supposed to be a mouse

 Fluffy tail of joy!

Coffee Monster

This guy is a real charmer if you meet him after his first cup of coffee. But before that...

Dan's a little bit scared of him. But who can really be that scary when they are wearing fuzzy bunny slippers?

Look, he's really just not a morning monster, okay?

Princess Sparkletoes

I didn't name her Princess Sparkletoes, she just *is* Princess Sparkletoes.

You guys, look at that beautiful mane! I just want to brush it every day for her.

She's SO pretty!

Honestly, I can't write any witty things in this post. My eyes have gone all big and sparkly and I'm just muttering 'pretty... preeetty' a lot.

Even her horn has a little sparkle in it

Ballet bunny

This beautiful little bunny girl is so proud of her new tutu. It is so very floompfy.

Here she's about to attempt a ronde de jambe. It is actually quite difficult balleting when you have such big feet.

Fluffy tail! I was alarmed at the skilled dexterity with which Dan took this up-skirt shot.

Party mouse

He's a one mouse party. Everywhere he goes he takes that balloon with him in case there's an unexpected opportunity to party. He also has seven identical party hats, one for every day of the week.

I used the pipe cleaner tail technique for making him stand up as he has such tiny little mousie feet.

Alien daddy

This alien father is so proud of his little bundle of joy. The baby has his father's eyes and his mother's skin.  If you look closely he also has two tiny little teeth. I'm very proud of those teeth.

Dad is wearing a chunky turtle neck sweater and is looking nice and cosy. (I think I was a bit chilly when I made him.)

Penguins of love

How cute are these two??  That heart they found is way too big to be carried by one penguin, especially with such little flippers, so they are carrying it together. Actually, thinking about it, lugging around a heart that big is probably quite a burden, but I guess they think it is worth it.

Shiny eyes and teeny tiny little toes.

Stone troll

Fun fact is that this fellow actually started his life as an abominable snow man, but it was pointed out to me that yetis don't have horns so he changed to this fine pebble chewing creature you see before you. Turns out that he doesn't much like the cold anyway, so it was probably for the best.

Look! Look! He has a little belly button!

Pumpkins 2018

As requested (no, honestly, someone requested that I post all my pumpkins on my blog!) here's 2018's pumpkins. Nothing really special compared to previous years, but hey ho.

Totoro!

 Stitch

Dragon eye. Dan asked if I was going to do the other eye in another pumpkin. I told him to bugger off! (it took quite a long time doing the scales individually)

Scary pumpkin

Princess Ida on top of the sacred geometry (from Monument Valley)

Ida turning into a white crow and gaining her crown

Lame little one

The back illumination on the lame little one. The moon isn't quite right from that angle but it is really hard!

That's it for 2018!

Crabby fisherman

So pumpkin week has been and gone and again I focussed on making things for our annual work craft fair along with the usual pumpkins. I'll do a little roundup of the pumpkins in a while, but as I currently have eight things already made, you are going to get a whole week of whimsy. You lucky people.

Look at this chap all cosy in his snow suit and mittens.

But what *is* that lurking on his head?

Aargh! It is a crab!

Dan thinks the crabs are hunting him but I like to think they are his pets. Either way, they are probably going to get some of that fish.

Monument Valley crows and moose-yeti thing

Our living room door kept slamming shut in the breeze this summer so I made a door stop. Of course now all the hatches are battened down for the winter so there are no more unexpected gusts just as I finished making it. Still it is pretty cool and Dan caws at it every time he passes.

This is one of the crows that make Ida's life slightly inconvenient in Monument Valley.

Front on. The base was a box that a watch came in years ago, I filled it with cement and Dan modge podged origami paper on the outside.

Also, while on holiday I made a nonchalant-looking moose that is more yeti-like than moose. He's teeny tiny at about 6 cm tall.

Head slightly tilted pondering the big camera being pointed at him. He doesn't have a nose, and he feels pretty self conscious about it so please don't mention it to him.

(Photos by Dan. You can tell they aren't me as there isn't yoghurt smeared on the lens)
